I have had the pleasure of working with Roy for over 10 years. He has always been knowledgeable and very easy to work with. After years of building experience in the Edmonton and Alberta market, Roy started his own company; Roy Jackson Design. His extensive contacts in the business give Roy a great competitive advantage as he is not tied to specific vendors, but can seek out the best equipment at the best price. If Roy can't provide the service, he knows three people or companies that can.

Roy provides personal service which is often lacking from the "big" providers especially with medium sized and smaller orders. He also services whatever he sells (not that anything we have purchased has needed servicing.) Roy knows the competition and competes with price, product, and is way ahead in personal service. He actually comes to the site to deliver and go through installation and setup.

Roy is upfront, honest, and reliable. I highly recommend Roy Jackson Design for all your theater audio-visual needs.

I write to say a heartfelt thanks to Roy for his work at Lacombe Composite High School.  I first had contact with Roy a number of years ago with the purchase of a small system of lighting equipment for a church.  We were, and still are happy with what we have in that situation.  I would also often pick his brain when I ran into him at teacher’s conventions and found his advice was very helpful.    About three years ago when the renovation process was getting underway for our school, Lacombe Composite High School, Roy spent considerable time on the phone with me regarding power and design issues long before there was a lighting contract to be tendered.  Once the actual work was tendered out, Roy was awarded a contract for both curtains and lighting. 

The curtains have been a godsend. The room was almost unusable before they went up.  We now have a room where Drama, Musical Theatre (with 60 kids!) and Guitar classes can all function effectively. We did our first show at the end of the school year and Bugsy worked wonderfully under the new lighting system.  And, because we were pretty new with the system, when a last minute pre-show question –actually panic!—took place, we called on a Friday night and Roy walked us through righting our problem.  We made sure we got to his offer of a training session as soon as we could after that!

In fulfilling his contract he provided a number of meaningful options to see that we got the best bang for our buck and gave us a system with flexibility and room for growth. He has a real commitment to service which has been both personal and flexible and I would recommend him without reservation.
